April 25th Bridge
The 25 de Abril Bridge is a suspension bridge that connects the city of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, to the south bank of the Tagus River. It opened on August 6, 1966, and the train platform was added in 1999.
Due to its color, it is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. However, the 25th of April Bridge was not built by the same company that built the Golden Gate, but rather by the American Bridge Company that built the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
With a total length of 2,277 meters, it is the 20th longest suspension bridge in the world.
